Students create or modify recipes to make them more healthy; and they also set individual healthy goals. From start to finish this is an interactive learning opportunity!
Stirring Up Health™
Middle School Recipe Contest Winners!
Healthy Kids Challenge and featured sponsor, Del Monte, along with educational partners, Johnson & Wales University and Home Baking Association are pleased to announce the winners of the Stirring Up Health™ National Middle School Recipe Contest!
Students learned important cooking skills and showed that healthy foods can look and taste terrific. For most Americans, adding more fruits and vegetables to their daily intake is a healthy goal; students were challenged to use Del Monte canned fruit, vegetable or tomato as a primary ingredient.
Entries were judged for originality, creativity, presentation, appearance and written essay. The four recipe contest winners are from New Jersey, Ohio, Oregon and Hawaii.
