Division of Nutrition and Physical Activity-In CDC's National
Center for Chronic Disease Prevention and Health Promotion,

activities for children and adults that address the role of
nutrition and physical activity in health promotion and the
prevention and control of chronic diseases.
"Promoting healthy behaviors among students is an important
part of the fundamental mission of schools . . . Collaboration
and teamwork are vital to the success of a school's effort
to promote physical activity and healthy eating through a
coordinated school health model . . . Schools need to address
the whole school environment including their nutrition services,
student health services, physical education programs . . .
and family and community involvement."
